Trypsin and chymotrypsin are enzymes that digest protein in the small intestine. Their inactive precursors, trypsinogen and chymotrypsinogen, are produced in the pancreas and transported to the small intestine. In the small intestine, trypsinogen is activated and turned into trypsin.
