Trypsinogen is a pancreatic proenzyme, an inactive precursor to the enzyme trypsin. Normally, trypsinogen is produced in the pancreas and transported to the small intestine. In the small intestine, it is activated and turned into trypsin by an enzyme in the intestinal mucosa.
